Sets Machine

This is another job during the fall crunch for Sets Machine.  During the weekend we had this bar closed I would see steady streams of people look longingly in.  There aren’t too many bars on this stretch of Park Avenue, and you could tell the locals felt the loss.   While I was at the bar with a small team, the tables had been sent back to the shop to be refinished.  For our part we stripped the bar of stain, sanded it raw, restained and then applied a hard coat.  This was a nice change from a lot of the jobs in this industry.  You learn to appreciate the temporary nature of what we do, but for an artist and craftsman it’s nice to have some work that will stick around.
